Minnesota’s economy should work for working families, not just coastal corporations and government insiders. We were once a state where hard work, strong communities, and common sense built thriving Main Streets and good-paying jobs. Today, too many Minnesotans are struggling with high taxes, crushing energy costs, inflation that’s eroded wages, and regulations that drive businesses and talent out of our state. I will fight to cut wasteful spending, lower taxes on families and small businesses, and reduce the regulatory burden so employers can hire, invest, and grow right here in Minnesota. We must prioritize workforce training that matches real job opportunities in manufacturing, agriculture, trades, healthcare, and technology — not just more government programs.
We need safe, affordable communities where people want to raise families and start businesses. That starts with reliable, affordable energy, pro-growth policies, and cutting red tape that makes it harder for job creators to succeed. I reject the top-down, one-size-fits-all approach that has left too many Minnesota workers behind. By focusing on practical solutions — lower costs, better skills training, and economic freedom — we can restore the opportunity and prosperity that defined our state for generations. Minnesota workers built this economy, and it’s time our policies started working for them again.
Education
Minnesota’s children deserve a world-class education that puts reading, writing, math, and real-world skills first — not political agendas or social experiments. We once had schools that prepared kids for life, work, and citizenship, backed by parents and communities who were actively involved. Today, too many of our schools are failing our kids: test scores have declined, chronic absenteeism is high, and ideological indoctrination has replaced honest teaching of history and civics. I will fight to restore parental rights, increase transparency in curriculum, and ensure every dollar spent in the classroom actually reaches teachers and students instead of administrative bloat.
We must empower parents with real school choice, support great teachers, and expand vocational and trades education so our graduates are ready for good-paying jobs here in Minnesota. Local control should mean something again — decisions about our children belong in our communities, not in St. Paul or Washington. By returning to basics, raising standards, and measuring success by results instead of spending, we can rebuild an education system that gives every Minnesota child the opportunity to thrive and carry forward the values of hard work, critical thinking, and unity that built our state.
Healthcare
In 2004, before the heavy hand of Washington took over, a family of four could get full coverage with zero co-pays or deductibles for just $300 a month. It was simple, affordable, and actually worked for working families. Today, thanks to Obama’s Unaffordable Care Act and years of government expansion, Minnesotans have the “privilege” of paying $12,000 a year in premiums only to face $10,000 deductibles before insurance might — possibly — cover care, and only if you stay in-network. This is not healthcare; it’s a bureaucratic nightmare that enriches insurance companies and big government while leaving families one illness away from financial ruin.
We need real reform that puts patients and doctors back in charge. I will fight to increase transparency in pricing, expand health savings accounts, promote competition across state lines, and reduce the regulatory burden that drives up costs. Minnesota families deserve affordable, accessible care without mandates, middlemen, or massive deductibles. By returning to patient-centered solutions instead of one-size-fits-all government control, we can lower premiums, restore choice, and ensure quality healthcare is once again within reach for every Minnesotan.
Public safety
Minnesota was once known for safe neighborhoods where kids could play outside until the streetlights came on and communities looked out for one another. Today, too many families live with the fear of crime that goes unpunished, while law-abiding citizens feel abandoned. I stand firmly with our law enforcement officers who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. They deserve our full support, proper funding, and the tools they need to do their jobs — not defunding or political interference. We must end the soft-on-crime policies that have led to revolving-door justice and restore accountability by prosecuting criminals to the fullest extent of the law.
True public safety starts with listening to the people who live it every day. I will actively engage with Minnesota communities — from our cities to our rural towns — to hear directly about their needs and priorities. Whether it’s addressing violent crime, property theft, or keeping drugs out of our neighborhoods, solutions must be driven by common sense and the voices of residents, not distant bureaucrats or activist agendas. By backing our police, enforcing our laws, and putting victims first, we can bring back the safe, strong communities that allow Minnesota families to thrive.
Housing
Every Minnesotan deserves the opportunity to own or rent a safe, affordable home without government policies making the problem worse. Skyrocketing prices and limited supply have pushed the dream of homeownership further out of reach for working families and young people. I support practical solutions that increase housing supply through streamlined permitting, responsible development, and removing unnecessary barriers that drive up costs. We need fair rules that protect both renters and buyers while respecting property rights — balanced regulations that prevent abuse without punishing responsible landlords or homeowners.
Rent freezes and heavy-handed price controls often do more harm than good. By discouraging developers from building new housing, they worsen long-term supply shortages and drive prices even higher. Furthermore, restricting landlords’ revenue while operating costs continue to rise frequently leads to declining property maintenance and poorer living conditions for tenants. You only need to look to Minnespolis which doesn't have rent freezes and St. Paul that does to see how it impacts new housing construction. Instead of failed top-down mandates, we should focus on increasing supply, supporting first-time homebuyers, and creating a balanced housing market that works for everyone in Minnesota.
Good government
Minnesota deserves government that works for the people, not the insiders, lobbyists, and special interests. For too long, decisions have been made behind closed doors with little transparency or accountability, eroding public trust. I believe in open, honest government that puts taxpayers first. As your representative, I will post every vote I cast along with a clear explanation of my reasoning directly on my website for all to see. No more hidden deals or vague excuses — just straightforward accountability to the citizens who send me to St. Paul.
Ethics and integrity must be non-negotiable. I will fight for stronger oversight, tougher ethics laws, and real consequences for those who abuse their positions. Anyone who commits fraud against the taxpayers or violates the public trust will be held to the fullest extent of the law. Good government isn’t about more rules for everyone else — it’s about those in power living up to the same standards they impose on Minnesota families. By restoring transparency, ethics, and accountability, we can rebuild faith in our institutions and ensure government serves the people once again.
Minnesota's Single-Subject Rule
Article IV, Section 17 of the Minnesota Constitution is clear: every bill must embrace only one subject. This single-subject rule exists to promote transparency, prevent backroom deal-making, and ensure legislators — and the public — can properly evaluate each proposal on its own merits. For too long, career politicians have abused the process with massive omnibus bills that bury controversial provisions, wasteful spending, and special-interest giveaways alongside unrelated measures. These legislative Frankenstein monsters make it nearly impossible for citizens to know what’s really being passed and allow bad policy to slip through in the dead of night.
I will vigorously defend and enforce Minnesota’s single-subject rule. No more omnibus packages where good ideas are held hostage or bad ones are hidden. Every bill will sink or swim on its own merit, with full transparency and public scrutiny. By returning to the constitutional standard our founders intended, we can restore integrity to the legislative process, reduce wasteful spending, and ensure that only well-crafted, focused legislation becomes law in Minnesota.
Support for Federal Law
Minnesota must respect and enforce federal immigration law just like every other state. The rule of law is not optional — it applies equally to everyone, and sanctuary policies that shield those here illegally undermine public safety and strain our resources. I fully support our federal partners, including ICE, in enforcing immigration laws and removing individuals who are in the country illegally, particularly those with criminal records. Minnesota communities deserve the same protections as every other American city and town, and we will no longer look the other way while federal law is ignored.
Supporting federal immigration enforcement is not about being anti-immigrant — it’s about fairness, the rule of law, and protecting the hardworking legal immigrants and citizens who follow the rules. We must secure our borders, end catch-and-release practices, and ensure that Minnesota is not a magnet for illegal immigration. By cooperating fully with federal authorities and prioritizing the safety of our residents, we can restore order, reduce crime, and preserve the resources needed for our own citizens and those who come here legally.
Legal vs. Illegal Immigration
Legal immigration has always been one of America’s greatest strengths, and I fully support those who follow the rules, respect our laws, and come here to contribute. Minnesota benefits from hardworking legal immigrants who strengthen our communities, businesses, and families. However, illegal immigration undermines the rule of law, strains public resources, and creates unfair competition for American workers and those who followed the legal process. We must secure our borders, enforce federal immigration law, and work with ICE to remove criminal illegal immigrants who threaten our safety.
That said, I believe in fairness and second chances for those already here. If you entered this country illegally but have stayed out of the criminal justice system, avoided using state or federal welfare resources, learned English, worked hard, and clearly love America more than the country you fled, I will fight for your right to stay and earn a path forward. Minnesota needs common-sense solutions that uphold the rule of law while recognizing those who truly embrace our values and way of life. We can be a compassionate state without sacrificing sovereignty or fairness to those who play by the rules.
Justice vs. Injustice
Equal justice under the law is the foundation of our republic, yet too often in Minnesota and across America, justice is influenced by politics, media pressure, and mob rule rather than facts and due process. If you believe Karmelo Anthony didn’t get a fair trial but think Derek Chauvin did, then you are a hypocrite. When we are silent on injustice, we are complicit in injustice. Derek Chauvin’s trial was compromised from the start. His jury heard daily threats from Maxine Waters and others in Washington that cities would burn again if he was found innocent. That is textbook jury tampering, compounded by other serious issues that denied him a fair proceeding. The same holds true for the four other officers charged alongside him.
I will be a voice for the voiceless. I will fight for Derek Chauvin and the other officers who were denied due process, just as I will fight for you or any Minnesotan who falls victim to injustice — regardless of politics or public pressure. True justice isn’t about protecting one side or the other; it’s about fair trials, honest evidence, and applying the law equally to everyone. In the Minnesota Senate, I will stand against politicized prosecutions and work to restore integrity to our justice system so that every citizen receives the fair hearing they deserve.
